Men's Cross Country Fly To 2nd Place FinishPublished by
The Highlanders finished their season in excellent fashion at CSAC Championships this weekend, finishing with 46 points overall, second only to Marywood with 32 points. The Highlanders times were a bit high with the hilly setup of the championship course; but Joel Varughese, who has been superb for Cairn the entire season ran yet another outstanding race and placed 2nd overall to finish First Team All-CSAC. The Highlanders continued their exceptional performance by placing 4 more runners on the Second Team All-CSAC in Jonathan Snider (9th overall finisher at 31:17.8), Greg Snow (10th overall 31:59.4), Evan Carey (12th overall 32:14.8), and Trevor Hickey (13th overall 32:45.5). Despite the Highlanders placing 5 runners on the all-conference teams, Cairn was unable to overcome Marywood who outpaced the competition and finished with 4 of the top 5.
